Cramgene Player Support (
Back
to Index )
The object of Cramgene is to feed your pet before the other
player feeds theirs. Cramgene's laboratory pets are picky
eaters and will only gobble what they want. Armed with a
limited supply of tasty alien livestock, you must build a
matching meal by uncovering the alien trait order and
extracting the necessary genes. Find any of the 8 bonus genes
to cripple your opponent or help you progress.
Speed is everything, so learn the shortcuts to unlock
all 10 pets. The Easy mode will let you unlock the first
3 pets but won't let you find Bonus genes. Finishing Normal
mode will unlock 8 and completing Hard mode will unlock
the final 2 pets. Although Normal mode will feed you
some Bonus genes, only Hard mode enables all 8 Bonus genes
in every round.

| Tip
1 |
Always
start by dragging 3 Stock Creatures sharing 1 obvious
common trait, such as Color (see fig.1 example). Once you're
quick enough, try to ensure that 2 of those Stock
Creatures also share a second common trait in order to
identify 2 gene columns. |

| Tip
2 |
Always
try to find and identify as many traits as possible
using the same Source DNA. Dragging new Stock Creatures
takes time, so avoid it when you can. |
|
|
| Tip
3 |
Drag
and drop Trait Reminders, especially in Normal and Hard
mode (see fig.2 example).
There's nothing worse than forgetting the gene order
when building the Target DNA. Incoming Bonus attacks
will easily confuse you. |

| Tip
4 |
Spend
time looking for Bonus genes to attack the computer
player. Don't forget to identify traits with them at the
same time. Attacks will delay the other player,
especially the Skull, Hammer, and Bombs, and give you
more time to identify genes.

Skull, Hammer, Bombs). |

|
| Tip 5 |
Remember
that Bonuses you acquire are Bonuses that your opponent
can't get. |
|
|
| Tip
6 |
When
looking to identify a specific trait, pick Stock
Creatures having the same trait as your pet's Meal
Request (see fig.4 example). For example, if you've decided to identify the
Color gene and your pet asks for Blue, drag
Stock Creatures that are Blue. |

|
| Tip
7 |
As
soon as a gene is identified, left-click on it to add it
to your Target DNA (see fig.5 example), provided you
used a meal gene, as explained in Tip 6. |

| Tip
8 |
To
truly master Cramgene, you must learn to keep Bonus
genes in a ready state while identifying traits. When
you find a useful Bonus gene, try to keep those 3 genes in
the Source DNA windows until you can use it. Memorize
the trait to which the Bonus gene is assigned in case the
other player hammers your board. That way you can
quickly bring it back. |

2
Player Game
Use the same strategies explained above for the 2 Player
Game, but keep in mind that your opponent may be using
the same methods.
Try attacking the other player with Bonus genes at
strategic moments. The Skull and Hammer are crucial
early in the game while your challenger tries to
identify traits. Later, when you think your opponent is
working on their Target DNA, detonate it with the Bombs
gene. Make sure you also get the Key gene to save time
and to prevent the other player from grabbing it.
Good luck! |
